About Us — Reading Assist receives grant from Mid-Del Charitable Foundation

On November 16, 2015 at the Harrington Raceway and Casino, representatives from 27 Delaware organizations -- including Reading Assist Institute -- were awarded financial grants by the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation. The Foundation, developed to consolidate the charitable undertakings of The Delaware State Fair, Inc. and Harrington Raceway, Inc., supports Delaware-based organizations and charitable, educational, and scientific endeavors which address the wide range of issues, including: health and human services, the arts, agriculture, education, and the environment.

Members of the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation are proud to award the 27 organizations with funding that will support the community, and provide more opportunities for Delaware citizens.

“We are thankful for all that these organizations do and are happy to provide these grants knowing they will have a lasting impact locally and throughout the State of Delaware," said Secretary Bill DiMondi.

Other organizations awarded grants included C.E.R.T.S., Inc., Cancer Support Community Delaware, Caring Hearts Helping Hands, Inc., CHEER, Inc., City of Harrington Parks & Recreation, Clear Space Theatre Company, Delaware 4-H Foundation, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc., Delaware Ducks Unlimited - Greenwing Event, Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation, Delaware Guidance Services for Children and Youth, Inc., Delaware Hospice Inc., DVFA Foundation, Frederica Spring Creek Lions Club, Greenwood Police Department, Harrington Police Department, Harrington Sunshine 4-H Club, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, Mental Health Association in Delaware, Milford Senior Center, Modern Maturity Center, Inc., Rehoboth Art League, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Santa's Workshop/"Bookaneers" Milford School District, The CENTER for Therapeutic and Educational Riding, Inc. and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 850. We appreciate all that they do and are thankful to be able to contribute to their continued success.”
