Nestled between Philadelphia and Baltimore, Wilmington, Delaware, is an affordable city with easy access to many major east coast destinations. Hop on a train or take a drive, and you can be in Center City Philadelphia in about 30 minutes, Baltimore in an hour, the Delaware beaches in an hour and a half, and New York and Washington, D.C., in just two hours.
Downtown Wilmington is a well-known financial capital, but the city also has an active arts and entertainment scene with museums, a minor league ballpark, an IMAX movie theater, restaurants, breweries, and four major stages – hosting everything from traveling Broadway musicals to indie folk bands – all within walking distance of downtown.
Outside the city, the Brandywine Valley is an area of great natural beauty, with well-maintained state parks, an extensive network of hiking and biking trails, and museums and gardens that have become international tourism destinations.
