Private Reading Tutoring

Reading Assist can provide your child with a certified reading tutor. We’ve worked with struggling readers for more than 30 years and have changed the lives of thousands of students.

Reading Assist offers one-to-one tutoring for children who need additional reading support or may be showing signs of a language-based learning disability. Our tutoring program follows the science of reading and takes a phonics-based, structured literacy approach to reading instruction, with principles rooted in the Orton-Gillingham methodology. Tutors support struggling readers by explicitly teaching the connections between letters and sounds.

Reading Assist can also provide a diagnostic screening of your child’s ability. Reading Assist tutors are certified in our accredited Reading Assist Intervention Program and have experience working with various ages and abilities. Tutoring can be provided in person in multiple locations in Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, or virtually.

“The change in [my son’s] confidence level is the most dramatic impact that we have seen. He is happy to read aloud in class, no longer sees himself differentiated negatively from his peers, and actually reads for pleasure sometimes. Your service has provided him with a solid foundation for building his education and are very grateful.”

“We have had a wonderful experience with Reading Assist this year. My son has advanced from a pre-k reading level to a first-grade level. I would have never believed he would make this much progress in just under a year. Thank you for all your help!!!”
