Build Literacy Capacity With Your Own Teaching Staff

Reading Assist’s Literacy Leaders Coaching Model helps schools support struggling readers by training and coaching their existing educators.

Through this model, educators complete two weeks of training in Reading Assist’s accredited Reading Intervention Program. They learn how to deliver structured literacy instruction one-on-one or in small groups within their own schools.

This gives schools a way to expand reading support using the staff they already have, while still receiving expert guidance from Reading Assist.

How the Coaching Model Works

Unlike High-Impact Tutoring, where Reading Assist Fellows provide direct student instruction, Literacy Leaders Coaching helps schools train and support their own educators to deliver structured literacy instruction.

Participating educators complete two weeks of training in Reading Assist’s accredited Reading Intervention Program. From there, a trained Literacy Leaders Coach helps schools implement the model with ongoing guidance, student testing, and progress monitoring.

  • Educator Training

    Ongoing support from a trained Literacy Leaders Coach as educators deliver instruction.
  • Testing and Data Collection
    Support with assessment and progress monitoring to track student growth.
  • Monthly Check-Ins
    Regular review of student progress and program implementation.
  • One-on-One or Small-Group Instruction
    Educators are equipped to deliver structured literacy support within their own schools.
