School & District Partners

Reading Assist Fellow providing one-on-one literacy instruction to elementary student in classroom

A Seamless Solution for Struggling Readers

Reading Assist partners with schools and districts to provide targeted literacy support for K–3 students who need more intensive reading instruction.

By embedding trained Reading Assist Fellows in schools, we help students build foundational reading skills while giving schools additional capacity to support their most struggling readers. Our model is designed to be practical, evidence-based, and easy to implement, with training, coaching, progress monitoring, and reporting built in.

Closing the Literacy Gap

Capacity

Reading Assist Fellows provide intensive instruction for students who need more targeted support. This helps schools serve more struggling readers and improve outcomes for small groups of students.

Prevention

Early intervention helps students build foundational reading skills before challenges become more difficult and costly to address later.

Affordability

As a nonprofit, Reading Assist works to subsidize the cost of tutoring through federal and state grants as well as support from philanthropic partners.
