A Year of Service Can Make a Lifetime of Difference

Become a Reading Assist Fellow and spend a school year working with struggling readers in the highest needs schools.

With your help, one more child can embark on a path to success in reading.

The Fellowship

Reading Assist offers the most intensive literacy training of any AmeriCorps program in the country, and it can be accepted for graduate-level credit. Fellows receive a living allowance, an education award to use toward tuition or education expenses, student loan deferment, and more. Learn more >

Why Serve

By the end of third grade, 74 percent of struggling readers won’t ever catch up, and students with a language-based learning disability are more than twice as likely to drop out of high school. Be the difference-maker for a child.
