Outreach Coordinator

Reading Assist is seeking a Part-Time Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator to oversee the annual application and hiring process for 100+ Reading Assist Fellows willing to serve as AmeriCorps members and spend a school year supporting struggling readers across Delaware.

The Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator will support the movement for educational equity by compelling those looking to make an impact to sign on to serve as Reading Assist Fellows. The Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator will identify and cultivate diverse prospects, build a committed and talented Fellow cohort, and actively engage and build relationships with community partners to raise awareness about Reading Assist and the Reading Assist Fellowship.

Temporary Assignment: Appx. 6 months

Salary: $25.00 per hour

Hybrid Schedule: 2 days required in office located in Wilmington, DE.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Reading Assist Fellow hiring process from application to offer, includes managing job postings, scheduling and conducting interviews, and hosting information sessions.
  • Collaborate with Recruitment and Marketing Manager to engage prospective applicants, including events, online platforms, direct outreach, and partnerships with high schools, colleges and universities, retiree groups, parent groups, and community organizations.
  • Work closely with the Recruitment and Marketing Manager to create and refine outreach materials, including printed materials, email, social media posts, and web content to engage prospective applicants and community partners.
  • Ensure Reading Assist data management systems are updated daily to track and manage prospective fellows.
  • Engage prospective applicants on an individual basis via phone, email, and in virtual and/or in-person meetings and guide prospects through the application process as needed.
  • Identify and explore new pipelines for recruitment.
  • Regularly evaluate recruitment plans and strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Operations and Instruction teams to stay up to date on programmatic changes and to ensure smooth transition of hired fellows from the recruitment phase to operational support.
  • Assist with other Reading Assist operations as needed, including program support, training, and administration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in recruiting or human resource experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Strong understanding of processes and candidate selection methods
  • AmeriCorps or Peace Corps experience (preferred)
  • A passion for education equity
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple candidates at varying stages
  • Enjoys continuous interactions with diverse groups of people
  • Strong ability to connect and build relationships
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Knowledge in social media platforms for lead generations
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
